Carola is German of origin and holds a degree in Garment Engineering from the FH Niederrhein. She has built a solid career in the Fashion Industry, which originally brought her to Asia in 1979. Her experience covers all technical aspects of product management, manufacturing plant set up and operations, establishing and managing of buying offices as well as leading teams in merchandising and product line development. She more than 20 years experience in this field and held senior corporate positions in international companies. She successfully established new offices and developed markets throughout the Asia Pacific region.
With this in-depth knowledge of the textile and garment industries, she joined HKES in 1996 and successfully established her specialty area, being well qualified to recognize and understand the specific requirements of clients in the manufacturing industry.
She has clients in fashion, consumer goods manufacturing, buying offices, logistics and trading and successful placements of top talent for a broad range of management positions, from CEO, CFO, COO, CTO to Country Manager, GMM, Head of Design and Product Development, Operation and Retail Directors, Plant Managers, Process improvement and Technical specialists, Sourcing and Procurement, Logistics, Sales and Marketing managers for European, Asian and US clients.
She is the Founder and Director of CMCC Ltd, Creative Management and Career Consultants, which provides customized consulting and interim management solutions to clients companies in manufacturing and process improvements, assisting with re-engineering and cost saving measures.
CMCC Ltd also provides individual career consulting and assessment for candidates seeking to upgrade their profiles and polish presentation and interview skills to ready themselves for new career challenges.
Carola is a certified Assessor of Thomas International Management Systems and is fluent in English, German, Italian and Indonesian.
Carola loves the Hong Kong countryside and is active in community services and charitable work. She is a keen hiker and has participated and completed the 100km Oxfam Trailwalker five times. Her team won individual team fundraising Champion in 2002. She is active in Rotary International, serving on the board of her club since 1995, and is the president of the Rotary Club of Kowloon Golden Mile for 2007/2008. She also served as the Editor-in Chief of Harmony, the official magazine of Hong Kong SGI a Buddhist lay organization since 1996, of which she has recently retired and is now the Advisor, freeing up time for her active participation in the Hong Kong Network of Religion and Peace, to promote interfaith dialogue within the Hong Kong community.
